At The Pond...

Early spring days find me reaching for my camera almost every day. I like to always have one in the car whenever I leave the house because in my neighborhood you just never know what you will find quite by accident as you drive the backroads here. I am a backroad girl. I am fortunate to live away from the city with winding backroads and lots of woods. Nature rules in my area and along with the woods we have access to a lot of water, including many ponds and a coastline of ocean. It’s also where the wildlife is really “wild”. Now I’m not talking bears or buffalo, not big game here but lots of small wildlife and lots of deer and so many raptors and an abundance of birds, so a camera is always a good idea. Let’s not forget the flowers and trees also. This day, I decided to go to some of my favorite little places and one pond in particular and along the way I saw many birds, some deer and these sweet little fluff balls…a family of Canadian geese and their babies. They were heading for the pond also and they didn’t mind at all that I was following them…I love how both parents protect and lead them. I also respect their space with my 500mm lens…I thought you might enjoy their sweetness today. Wednesday is the perfect day for fluff balls.

I hope you get out there this spring…and take a camera with you. Actually, we all have cameras now if we have a cell phone. These sweet babies put a smile on my face on this day and even reviewing the photos brings back that smile. I’m always amused by the smallest of critters and this is no exception. No matter the species, if there is more than one child, there is always one lagging behind. Wishing you lots of sunshine and a few fluffy days.
