It all started when...

In 2000, when my younger brother was very sick.  We all went to stay with him. Sometimes when it got real sad inside the house, I would take a little Canon camera and go for a walk in the woods behind his house.  He collected antique cars and one day I snapped a shot of one of them..  That was the beginning for me.  I loved the feel of peace and quiet out in his back woods...and to this day, the woods is where I go when I want to settle myself down...always with a camera in hand.

I grew to love photography.  I started taking a few lessons, reading books about it...upgrading my gear and practicing.  A few years after my brother died, I retired.  I love the freedom now of taking more classes, spending more time with photography and writing. After awhile the writing and the photography started blending...and then I started blogging.  Now, I not only shoot, edit and write, I teach.  All of my loves rolled up in one basket. Then I had grandchildren.  So much to love about them, that I had to share their journey in photo's and stories.  Recently I have started doing street photography and I'm loving that also.  Mostly, I'm always looking for the light and the right words to make that perfect shot and to tell a story.

I have worked my way up to a full-frame Canon camera and some lovely prime lenses...now I'm on the other side and just getting started with some Fuji mirrorless gear.  I love the smallness of the Fuji and the light weight. The color and sharpness. For me, this is another beginning...I'll write about it and let you know how it all works out...

Welcome to my Blog...where we can share anything in words and photo's and ideas...Perhaps grow a friendship or two..I look forward to meeting all of you.
