End of Year Book Review

I recently sprained my wrist so typing is not my friend right now but I do want to get these books off my desk and onto the shelf and move on to 2022. So for this one time, I will only list the books and star them as to how I enjoyed them. Next time, I promise to get back to my old style of reviewing them properly. I thought the title of the book above was perfect to start this post. Small things and small reports can still be good. One hand typing.

Hunger by Roxane Gay. A memoir about being overweight. She never got her life together. 2 stars and I rarely give out 2 stars.

So that is it for the early winter selections and for the year 2021. I don’t know how I would have survived the year with Covid still playing tricks with us and the loss of both my nephew and my beloved brother. Books truly do hold me together. I hope they help you out also…in good times but most importantly in bad times.

Just another note: my reading challenge on Goodreads this year was to read 55 books. In the end I read 60 books. A few were small. I love setting the challenge and I do believe it helps me to read more books. I’ve kept the same 55 book challenge for this year also. Happy 2022 Reading. Why not challenge yourself?

Maybe this is why we read, and why in moments of darkness we return to books: To find words for what we already know.
